St. Joseph’s Camperdown has been blessed with many priests, religious orders and lay communities who contribute to and make up the wider parish community.

Order of the Ministers of the infirm (Camillians)

In June 2022, Archbishop Anthony Fisher OP has entrusted the pastoral care of St. Joseph’s Camperdown to the Order of the Ministers of the Infirm (Camillians) of the Philippine Province. With their special charism and ministry dedicated to the sick , they also look after the chaplaincy at the nearby Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Camperdown.

RELIGIOUS SISTERS OF MERCY OF ALMA, MICHIGAN

The Sisters are based in Camperdown right next door to the parish. Their contribution to the parish has been ongoing since 2008 and continues to foster the advancement of the Catholic faith by works of charity, education and pastoral care.

CHINESE CATHOLIC COMMUNITY

The Chinese Community have been based at the parish since 1983 and they continue to have Mass celebrated in both Chinese and English languages as well as the running of various activities and fellowship outings.

SISTERS OF THE IMMACULATA & IMMACULATA COMMUNITY

The Sisters of the Immaculata continue to have a strong affiliation with the parish. The Sisters are currently based in Hobart, Tasmania but the lay community of youth run regular initiatives at the parish like the Immaculata Youth Group and monthly Reachout.

ST. JOSEPH’S CHOIR GROUP

Some of the young people who serve and form part of the parish community meet regularly for parish related activities, choir ministry and other fellowship outings.

LEGION OF MARY

The Legion of Mary is a lay Catholic organisation giving service to the Church voluntarily, supported by fraternity and prayer. The group meets regularly at the parish.

SERVANTS OF MARY, HELP OF CHRISTIANS

The Servants of Mary is a lay Catholic organisation founded in 1976 to promote devotion to Mary and other Catholic devotions. The Servants of Mary shop sells devotional items – including books, cd’s, rosaries and other sacramentals.

The shop is located at the parish in the building adjacent to the Church (above the child care centre) and is open Monday to Friday between 10:00am to 4:00pm.
